TEDxRedmond 2016 is looming near, and we’re once again looking for talented, inspirational youth to speak or perform at our next conference. If you are under 25, we invite you to apply. We hope you are as excited as we are for this year’s conference. TEDxYouth@Redmond is about providing a voice to passionate youth and creating a platform on which they can share ideas. The application process consists of two rounds.
To apply to be a speaker this year, please read the following steps and submit your application by the specified deadlines:
In the first round, you must submit a short summary of yourself (who you are, what you’ve done, etc.) and an outline of your speech (this can be a bulleted list or a paragraph describing the main topics of your speech), by 11:59 PM on June 18th. A week after the preliminary submissions, we will send out an email notifying you as to whether you will advance. In the second round, you must submit a one minute video of you speaking on how your topic relates to the theme of this year’s conference, as well as a rough draft of your speech by 11:59 PM on July 9th. If you have clips of you speaking or presenting in the past and would like to submit those as well to convey your ability as a speaker, then please feel free to do so. The theme for this year is X Marks the Spot, addressing the journeys that people take to achieve their goals, some of which might still be ongoing. You must integrate this theme into your speech. The topic of your speech might focus on the process you went through to become who you are today, how you found your passionate, and/or the steps you took, or are taking, to achieve your dreams.
To apply to be a performer:
Please submit a preliminary document of information about yourself and your performance. It can be either bulleted or in paragraph form. If you are asked to submit further information in the second round, please send in a short video of your performance (it doesn’t have to be perfect). All deadlines and important submission dates for performers coincide with those for speakers.
