At TEDxYouth@Redmond, we’re privileged to have a dedicated committee of local high school students. We’re also very lucky to have a resource of encouraging parents and mentors, who drive us to meetings, offer up their insight, and allow us to do what we love.
TEDxYouth@Redmond 2017 Team:
Lucy Jiang is a rising senior at Redmond High School. As the president of Chinese Club and the secretary for Speech and Debate and Math Club, she enjoys being involved in the community and making changes. She and her friends traveled to Washington D.C. for the 2014 National History Day competition, after placing first in the state for their group performance. She is also a Level 2 Certified Skate Instructor and a summer camp counselor for Skate Journeys Skate School. In her free time, Lucy enjoys baking, cooking, and painting. This is Lucy’s fourth year on the committee for TEDxYouth@Redmond and she looks forward to planning another inspiring event.
Aramya Trivedi is a senior at Interlake High School. This is second year working with TEDxRedmond with his primary focus being fundraising. Last year, he was a co-host of the event. Outside of this committee, he does DECA, Model United Nations, and Knowledge Bowl. For fun, he likes to watch TV and movies, read, and listen to music. He’s extremely excited to put together a great conference this year!
Sagarika Samavedi is a junior at Interlake High School and is passionate about biology and art. She is part of many clubs in her school including Science club, Science Olympiad, HOSA, and FPS. This year as President of HOSA in her school, she and her friends competed at the HOSA International Leadership Conference and she was recognized for her community service with the Barbara James Service Award. She loves to dance and has been learning the classical dance form Kathak for the past 6 years. In her free time, she creates oil paintings with themes inspired by nature. This is Sagarika’s second year with TEDxYouth@Redmond, and she is very excited to be a part of the team!
Léo Dage is a senior at Interlake High School. He is an avid viola player, having taken part of numerous state conferences and competitions. Besides viola, Léo is also involved with his robotics team. He plans to study mechanical engineering in college. Léo is excited to be a part of the TEDxYouth@Redmond committee this year!
Vivek Dutta is a junior at Interlake High School, where he takes part in many clubs including Model UN, Science Club, and FBLA. He is also enjoys helping out his school’s Programming Club as an officer. With a passion for diplomacy and science, Vivek hopes to continue pursuing these interests at the various Model UN conferences and the annual Science Bowl. Outside of school, he enjoys coming up with creative solutions to help the community and is an active member of Bellevue’s Youth Link organization. In his leisure time, he likes to play soccer, hang out with friends, eat, sleep, and waste endless hours surfing the internet. This is Vivek’s first year with TEDxYouth@Redmond, and he is excited to work with the other members to make the 2017 event a memorable experience.
Archika Dogra is a rising sophomore at Interlake High School. She is passionate about writing, public speaking, and loves to play sports! Both a select soccer player and Varsity softball player, Archika spends a lot of time outside. She’s also very passionate about STEM, as the President of Interlake Technology Student Association and co-founder of an educational community outreach initiative called EduSTEM. An active participant of her school’s Speech and Debate Club, Archika is a national level debater. She also loves to volunteer at her local theater, Bellevue Youth Theater. In her free time, Archika enjoys watching panda videos, petting dogs, and spending time with her family! This is her first year with TEDxYouth@Redmond and she is looking forward to planning an exciting event!
Sten Hoffman is an incoming senior at Interlake High School in Bellevue. Sten has always had an interest in TED talks, and when he heard that TEDx Youth@Redmond was taking applications for its planning committee, he applied immediately. Outside of TEDxYouth@Redmond, Sten participates in his school’s Model UN club, plays the trumpet in his school’s Jazz Band, bikes, hikes, and walks his dog. Sten is incredibly excited for TEDxYouth@Redmond 2017 and he looks forward to an interesting and informative event!
Sharat Dhananjaya is a junior at International School in Bellevue. Some of his interests include playing piano, doing taekwondo, and playing tennis. When he has some time in the day, he likes to read a book or go biking. He joined TEDxYouth@Redmond this year in order to build on his already strong teamwork and leadership skills. He also wanted to be a community leader and help organize events for teens in the greater Seattle area.
Sneha Durairaj is a rising senior at Redmond High School and loves public speaking and debate, particularly in Model United Nations. Outside of MUN, Sneha plays competitive badminton, is part of DECA, and is the President of the Senate in Youth & Government, which she is extremely passionate about. Additionally, she is the Editor-in-Chief of the Redmond High School newspaper and is learning her fifth and sixth languages. Sneha wants to be a Senator later in life and loves politics. As a people person, she sincerely looks forward to meeting all of the attendees of TEDxYouth@Redmond and hopes that everyone has an absolutely wonderful time.
Shreyas Kulkarni is a senior at Nikola Tesla STEM High School in Redmond. He is interested by film, art, and the sciences. He enjoys creating apps and has created multiple. Outside of school he is obsessed with all sports and physical fitness. He played basketball freshman year and has also started competitive cycling. He is also caring about his community; Shreyas has spent many hours volunteering for non-profits, churches, and food-drives. Shreyas is also a certified snowboarding instructor and has taught this last year in Snoqualmie. This is Shreyas’s first year on TEDxYouth@Redmond and he is excited to help out this team.
Prannay Pradeep is a rising junior at Interlake High School. At Interlake, Prannay enjoys participating in many clubs and activities, including JSA, Science Olympiad, and Key Club. Additionally, Prannay enjoys to play tennis and has been a member of his school’s varsity tennis team for two years. Outside of school, Prannay enjoys watching movies and TV, as well as playing video games. This is Prannay’s first year with the TEDxYouth@Redmond Team! He is super excited to put together a great and memorable conference this year!
Aashna Sheth is a junior at Tesla STEM High School. At school, she’s a part of ASB and She# Coding Club. She is passionate about the environment and computer science. In her free time, she enjoys reading Agatha Christie novels, swimming, and watching cooking shows. Aashna loves everything about TED and is so excited to a part of the TEDxYouth@Redmond team this year.
